The first interview dates back to 1972, with the band discussing life on the road and the film Live at Pompeii; the group is very relaxed and laughing. At one point, Rick Wright says, “We understand each other very well. We are very tolerant of each other.” Nick Mason adds, “We all come from the British aristocracy, except David Gilmour…” This group interview is a true gem for a band that rarely gave interviews. Looking back from 2023, I’m sure you’ll find it quite fascinating!
The second and longer interview, over 30 minutes, covers Rick Wright’s tours, a retrospective on The Dark Side of the Moon, the band’s inner workings of writing and playing together, solo albums, and living in the English countryside. This interview CD, along with all the memorabilia and commentary by legendary Floyd historian Glenn Povey, makes this limited-edition super deluxe box set a perfect companion to the official Dark Side of the Moon set.
